Visual Identity for Olivia Ann Studio, a womxn-led artist collaborative initiative that seeks visibility for Panamanian artisan women. Founded by textile artist Vanessa Orelli, her vision is to connect international artisans as well as to showcase and sell intentional, unique pieces that celebrate the beauty of imperfections.
TYPE PAIRING
Messina sans and Recife Serif pair up to bring a clean, delicate and editorial narrative to Olivia Ann Studio. Both typefaces were designed by Swiss type foundry Luzi Type
For display (titles, subtitles) Messina italic is used for prepositions, and Recife all caps is used throughout.
For body text, or longer paragraphs, Messina is used all caps with a 75pt tracking, and Recife is used in bold, italics, lowercase. These two paragraph styles alternate every sentence.
LOGOTYPE
Custom typeface – inspired on Italian 1910's Art Nouveau references, the logo of OAS is composed mostly by exaggerated counter-forms, creating a rhythm that allows elegant yet bold ligatures. Recife was used as the base for the typeface.
